Pupils at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School in Crook have been celebrating Black History Month through a range of creative art activities inspired by influential figures from history and the arts. Throughout the day, children explored the lives, achievements and impact of Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Kimmy Cantrell. As part of their learning, pupils created artwork inspired by these individuals while developing their understanding of their contributions and significance.
St Cuthbert’s Pupils Energised by Inspiring Science Show
Pupils at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Crook enjoyed an exciting day of science as classes across the school took part in a spectacular science showcase led by Thomas from the Royal Institution for Science. The event brought science to life through a series of engaging demonstrations focusing on energy, movement and energy transfer. Children were captivated as they watched bubbles transform into fire, rockets launch through the air and a balloon helicopter take flight.
Sporting Success for St Cuthbert’s Pupils
There was plenty to celebrate for pupils at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Crook following an impressive week of sporting success. The school’s girls’ team made a fantastic start to their league campaign on Wednesday evening, winning four out of their five matches. Throughout the competition, the girls demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, producing a series of strong performances to begin the season in style.
