‘Live the Light, Share the Light, Be the Light’

Welcome to St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School. I am proud to be Head Teacher of a happy school that puts children at the heart of all decisions. A school that has a shared vision for all children and sees each individual as a family member loved by God.

At St. Cuthbert’s Catholic School our faith underpins all that we do and is central to our belief that every child is unique and valued. We nurture our pupils so that they become caring, compassionate human beings ready to make a positive contribution to the wider community. Children leave our school safe in the knowledge that they are loved by God.

Our Motto ‘Live the Light, Share the Light, Be the Light’ always reminds us that it is our mission to follow in the footsteps of Jesus in the way we live our lives and in the decisions we make.

‘The Catholic Life of the school is outstanding because the well-being and personal development of each pupil is at the heart of the school’s vision and the staff and governors are united in implementing this across all areas of school life.’ Diocesan RE Inspection

At St. Cuthbert’s School we provide an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where the needs of the individual are both recognized and well supported. We strive to provide a rich and varied learning environment that enables children to maximize their potential. Our aspirational approach encourages all children to believe in themselves and recognize their right to aim high.

They set high standards and expectations for everyone.’ Ofsted

We consider ourselves to be a family where your child can grow, physically, academically, socially and emotionally.  We are concerned with the development of the whole child, and their relationship with society and the world in which they live. We see this as a partnership with parents and aim to involve the family and the wider community wherever possible. Our strength lies in working together as a community towards a shared goal with Christ at the Centre and children at the heart of all we do.

‘The school is outstanding in its work around pupils’ welfare and personal development.’ Ofsted

We believe that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone. Through our teaching, we equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to be able to make informed choices about their futures. We believe that exciting teaching and learning experiences, and a progressive curriculum with the appropriate level of challenge, will help children to lead happy and rewarding lives.

Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes towards learning are good and they show a high level of respect for everyone in school.’ Ofsted

All are valued and welcome in our wonderful school. Please contact the school to come and look around.
