Solar for SchoolsLearning About Clean, Green Energy for Our Future

St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Crook welcomed Wendy from Solar for Schools for a very special whole‑school assembly. This exciting session introduced our pupils to the world of renewable energy and helped them understand how solar power can make a positive difference to our planet.

How Do Solar Panels Work?

Wendy explained how solar panels capture energy from the sun and convert it into electricity that can power homes, buildings and — very soon — our school! The children were fascinated by the process and asked thoughtful, enthusiastic questions throughout the session.

Why Renewable Energy Matters

Pupils also learned why renewable energy is so important for the future of our planet. The assembly helped them understand that using clean, green energy reduces pollution, protects natural resources and helps look after the world God created.

An Exciting Project Begins

This assembly was a fantastic way to launch our school’s upcoming solar panel installation. We are thrilled that St Cuthbert’s will soon be generating its own renewable energy, helping us become more sustainable and environmentally responsible.

Our pupils left the assembly inspired, curious and eager to learn more — a brilliant start to an exciting new chapter for our school.

We can’t wait to see our new solar panels in place!
