What a lovely morning we’ve had bringing our Reading Week to a close here at St Cuthbert’s. It was fantastic to welcome so many families into school, and we’re grateful to everyone who joined us—your involvement always makes these events extra special.
Class 1: Stories, Creativity and Family Fun
Class 1 enjoyed a warm and busy morning spent exploring stories together. Families joined children in sharing story bags, building houses using junk-modelling materials and play dough, and using classroom resources to create homes for The Three Little Pigs. It was wonderful to see so much imagination, teamwork, and joy filling the classroom.
Class 3: Multiplication Masterminds
Over in Class 3, pupils were hard at work deepening their multiplication knowledge. They used arrays and bar models to explore mathematical concepts in a practical and visual way. A very productive morning—well done, Class 3!
Class 2: National Storytelling Week Workshop
Class 2 had an exciting opportunity to take part in a fantastic interactive storytelling workshop as part of National Storytelling Week. The session was based on I Am Nefertiti by Annemarie Anayang. Pupils danced, created sound effects, and shared ideas alongside children from other schools. Afterwards, they created story maps to help them retell the tale in their own words—a brilliant combination of creativity, drama, and literacy.
